In some ways, the worst one might the one who's so crap at his job, they don't even get mentioned.

Who's supposed to be LimpDim leader?

My personal choice for Worst Politician of 2023 would have to be shared among everyone in the Republican Party who's failing to look more viable than Trumpy.

Is this an international competition or UK only??
I think Braverman must be high on the list, but there are so many useless tts to choose from, it's a tricky choice....

Truss for the UK. I cannot believe her arrogance after being such a massive failure. Proving you are right is more important than convincing a few party members you have a big idea.

Braverman and others are just sts trying to line themselves up as the next leader of the opposition. And in doing so probably making the party unelectable for several terms. As others have commented, the list of potentials is far too long.

The US simply baffles me. There could only be one reason to vote for Trump and that is he is not Biden. I used to feel that democracy was self-rectifying. The fact that Trump could be afforded the opportunity to stand again baffles me, but when the President can load the Supreme Court with Political sympathisers, then the system stinks from top to bottom. The Republicans cutting funding to Ukraine simply shows how smart a Dictator, Putin really is.

Braverman. Surely no question.

Or. Starmer, because even with the colossal car crash that is the 2023 Tory Party, he's barely been noticeable, and made even less headway. A complete non-entity.

Truss is last years news, this ridiculous resignation list aside. Humza Yousaf is definitely in the running, everything he touches dies. While Braverman counts as a runner-up Sunak's doubling down on her stupid illegal policy means he gets whatever booby prize she was in line for; discarding an ideal opportunity to blame her for the stty mess and start from scratch is school boy stuff.

Definitely Truss for sure. I was trying to think of some on the labour side but they don’t seem to have any politicians so it’s a bit tricky.

I am finding it difficult to compile a "shortlist" for obvious reasons.

In Scotland we have our own brand of especially incompetent halfwits. In no particular order...

Humza Yousless.
Nicoliar Sturgeon.
Jenny 'whit's a train' Gilruth.
Shona Robison.
Peewee Herman.
Big Bird Slater.
Michael 'roaming charges' Mathieson.
Anguish Robertson.

That's without even delving into their hopeless band of grifters, liars and charlatans who keep the green benches warm in the HoC. If there's a less capable politician of 2023 than Dumbza Yousless I'd like to hear all about it - everything he has touched this year has descended into farce.

Starmer doesn't have to do anything yet. He’s polling way above his rivals and until there’s an election date hed be mad to put his head above the parapet whilst the tories are exploding on themselves.

In terms of 'bad politicians', a bit of farce is not so 'bad' as politicians like Putin and Netanyahoo.

I don't think the Edinburgh Fringe Parliament is doing much harm on that scale?
