I agree with the no gifts thing. I tell everyone not to buy me gifts, and not to expect anything from me.
But what on earth is this scummy woman on about?
Letting your 6 year old child dictate what gifts can and cannot be given to others? And then only can they be given out of spite?
She sounds like a rotten person, and her kid will surely be the same.

From the top to bottom of that article I count 37 ads.
But what on earth is this scummy woman on about?
That is why that article exists. Anything to drive paid-for-ad-impressions.

How are you able to post in NP&E with only a month of tenure and 72 posts to your name?

Why is that even of interest to you?

Is this a general ‘impotent rage’ thread?

I quite dislike smelly cheeses, especially when toasted.

Will the OP be able to reply?

Anyway, the article isn’t meant to be serious, it’s written in a very tongue-in-cheek style.

Yeah, and don’t even get me started on that brisk westerly breeze. Grrrr!

Yes - the whole point of the article is to demonstrate what the OP says.

A lot of young kids these days will basically turn into this in 10-15 years.

I'm kind of getting bored of old people thinking this is something new, it was exactly the same in your day and don't forget it.

The 1st item on her wish list is a £3230 handbag.
And she’s writing an article on not giving gifts because folk are struggling to pay bills.

Amazing

Aren't you taking a bit seriously? The wish list is basically adverts and the basic point of the article is to suggest that we should perhaps spend a bit less and be a bit less picky about presents.

The examples of hers and her families behaviours are part of the argument why.
