How in the hell did the police not remand them when these sentences were given in their absence?

The police may have remanded them only for them to be bailed by the court.

I’d they’d have been bailed as part of the investigation and not breached their bail conditions (assuming they had some), then the case at the point of charge to remand becomes harder etc.

Be interesting to see what offences they were sentenced for.

Sentenced despite their absence, warrants out for arrest.

What's the point? They'll be back in Pakistan using a relatives passport and the UK will never see them again. Probably for the best.

No, it’s encrypted. They just got access to his phone. Probably by a legalistic alternative to this strategy;

Here's the press release with the full story - https://www.cheshire.police.uk/news/cheshire/news/...

4 idiots race (1x R8, 1x RS3, 2x Bikes) in an area they didn't know so they hit a roundabout that took them by surprise and one of the bikers died. The other 3 skipped the UK and international arrest warrants have been filed for them.

Doesn't matter how encrypted it is if you have access to one of the exit nodes.

They should go down for attempted murder.

To be fair the sentences handed down are pretty substantial for motoring offences.

The issue is they were (probably) allowed to leave the country.

I don't think Police would normally remand for Causing Death by Dangerous Driving? Anyway just another bunch of s that need castrating IMHO

Unfortunately there are hundreds of morons like this out on the roads and (IMO) their attitude isn't a million miles away from the willy-wavers on PH bragging about doing cretinous speeds on the motorway (always at 2am on a clear motorway wink). Yet if you suggest that it's not the safest thing to do on public roads there are howls of outrage and references to Mumsnet/Brake.

Every moron out there thinks "his" driving is safe. "He's" done it loads of times, never had a problem....right up until the point he ends up killing himself or (more likely) some other poor sod.

This was about as bad as it could get though short of an innocent being killed or injured- they had prearranged to have a race on a public road, given that it was only 10.10 pm there would have been other traffic about, it is not a motorway , and they were all such incompetent drivers that all 4 had the same collision in sequence. The latter would be funny if it was a sequence from The Cannonball Run.

A world away from someone finding a suitable stretch of empty motorway to see what say 160mph feels like, Although I am not recommending that either for all the obvious reasons which come up when this subject is raised.

My wife nearly got hit by a bunch of knobheads matching these knobheads/cars description on the A34 bypass, they were racing and one of them dived for a gap between my wife on the inside and another car in the right lane, they were going very quickly and how they didnt collide she doesnt know.

Said I wouldn,t but have bought dashcams, as had she had one it would have got some footage and could have gone to the Police, it really rattled her and she still mentions it, she thought her number was up.

Then you seen s like this going on about "NPCs", like other motorists are computer generated, unimportant. I like a bit of a blast but jesus, theses guys are utter morons.

Anyway, total lack of honour and they slink off out of the country rather than face the consequences, hope its really fked their lives as much as prison.

In a computer game they are Non Player Characters, the morons treat normal road users as such.

It means non player character I think, refers to video games. It means they saw other motorists as unimportant background characters.

Apologies, should have explained, not everyone's a gamer.

Its a horrible way to describe someone else, kind of a way of dehumanising, and we all know that the roads are full of derps, mobile road blocks and whatever, but not everyone is into cars, driving and whatever, doesn't make them "NPCs", also suggests a huge amount of arrogance and self importance.
