He took him to his private flat to sleep on a sofa? That bit throws some doubt in my mind. IF the poor chap was in as bad shape as described and he was kicked in the head then surely it should have been an ambulance and trip to A&E.

Can you imagine the headline if he’d died overnight? ‘Homeless man with head injuries found dead on Tory MP’s sofa’.

Odd.

Are we expecting a Sir Norman Fry type apology at some point?

I haven’t read the story so probably unjustified…but it would be funnier if true.

Maybe the homeless chap didn’t want to go to A&E that night; not everybody living on the streets wants to engage with what they see as authority, but thought better of it in the morning?

It just shows you how far MPs have fallen that DDs actions are already being questioned on here. The saying that no good deed goes unpunished springs to mind!

If you are homeless I think a night and good sleep in a warm flat is more appealing than a trip to A&E. Probably went the next day just as a check up.

From the article it sounds as if it is not the first time DD has done something similar . Good for him. Hope he doesn't misjudge a situation in the future and get hurt though.

I like David Davis, I remember him using parliamentary privilege to expose the SNP and their rampant lies, we need more of his type.

Ironic considering he is in the government that is in large part responsible for the number of homeless people in the UK.

Yes I get that, and I am not a supporter of DD politically, but he deserves kudos for doing the right thing where many of us would have walked by.

Some posters in here - and you're one of them - are so blinded by their hatred of the Tories that they can't even recognise an act of human kindness if it's done by - shudder - a Conservative MP. Says a lot about you, I'm afraid.

Link doesn't work.

(For me, anyway).
