Chris Packham dropped by bird charity...
Discussion
For being 'too political and outspoken', looks to be a good discussion topic for NP&E, so what's the general views on this one?

I genuinely think he may have mental health problems. Any picture i see of him these days he always looks like he is about to explode. He definitely values wildlife over human life and appears to have swallowed the catastrophic climate change trope to the degree it is having a negative effect on him.
For someone that used to come across as a genuinely nice person it's not nice seeing what he has become.

I can see why.https://www.mirror.co.uk/3am/celebrity-news/chris-...
I generally agree with what he says but there's something about the way he goes about it that's a turn off.
I actually quite enjoy watching Packham. But with regard to celebrities in general. And voicing their political & social opinions. Rather than just doing what they are paid for. For me Ricky Gervais said it best at the Golden Globes. "Accept your little award, thank your agent, your god and fVck off". I just like that point of view when it comes to celebrity.
I think he's great on animal stuff including conservation/protection. But I don't really engage with him when he gets on to climate change. He did say about a year ago that he'd move away from the straightforward animal progs into other things which he does seem to be doing. I don't blame charities for being picky about who they associate themselves with but I guess he knows his priorities.

Is that the same Ricky Gervais who regularly voices his opinions on hunting and conservation issues? Perhaps he should follow his own advice.Randy Winkman said:

Weeeeell, things like pushing the ban on culling seagulls which has resulted in a massive influx of them to moorland areas, where they now are busy wiping out endangered ground-nesters, are not great for conservation or protection. But hey it stuck it to the evil rich landowners so all's well.GlenMH said:

Probably not helped by a late diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder.Saying you're Autistic is a bit more acceptable than people talking about your personality disorder.
