Putin has been welcomed with a state fanfare to UAE and then Saudi Arabia, then on to Iran

Very concering considering Saudi is stuffed full of all the latest western weapons & tech.

Did they invite Hitler in the 40's?

As it amounts to the same thing IMO

( mods feel free to move to NP&E as a newbie I cant)

International travel wasn't as easy back in Hitlers day but he did, for example, send a few delegations over to the USA in the 1930's. He was interested in the Eugenics movement and segregation practices there. As for Hitler and Saudi Arabia, unless he was interested in sand, dates and dried fish there wasn't much of a reason to be interested in the place....

Everyone attends COP with their private jets. Rishi, Cameron snd Charles all flying in separately in private jets. Putin attends an oil meeting next door, having flown in with four fighter jets in tow.
They're all trolling us, but Putin is world class biggrin

In my opinion, Putin is trying to 'befreind' Arab countries while they are unhappy with the USA's support of Israel's action in Gaza.

Russian tourism and trade is huge with the UAE. I was in Abu Dhabi last month and easily more than 9/10 tourists were russian or russian speaking. Not at all surprised Putin is over there.

One view is that this is about oil. US oil production is bringing the price down and the Saudis don't like that so they're considering an oil price war to take US oil producers out of the market. This would destroy Russia of course and that's why Putin is there.
