I've been listening to this guys channel and he seems somewhat controversial.

I feel a bit uneasy listening to him. Some of the things he says could be interpreted in a negative light.

YouTube have pretty much cancelled him.

I'd like to think that anyone in the "Progressive West" should welcome any opinion as we are supposed to encourage free speech etc.

This seems to be a dying attribute which is a shame.

He doesn't like islam much, nor religion generally. It rubs people up the wrong way, especially if presented with levity, although I'm not sure he says much that Christopher Hitchens and others haven't also said, but less scabrously. Freedom of speech doesn't mean freedom from consequence, etc.

He goes on a bit. Everyone knows Islam has its problems but I don't see how endless videos about it helps.

Opinions do not need to be welcomed.

A person should absolutely have the right to hold any opinion they like, and express it if they so wish.

But they have no right for that opinion to be listend to, no right for it to be hosted on media platforms, no right for it to be held above criticism, and no right to not be shunned by others for holding it.

An certainly no right for it to be welcomed.

Freedom of speech means for views you disagree with as well as those you agree.

How would you feel if the "contrary" viewpoint was banned ?

Plenty of places where I'm sure he'd be welcomed with open arms - Gab, Rumble, Telegram......
