Manufacturered fake news in the future

Saw this and found it depressing. As satire, this kind of thing could be funny in a Rory Bremner kind of way. But used as it will be to reinforce opinions, especially in more authoritarian countries, I can't see this contributing to anything that isn't a dystopia.
Can this even be policed?

Being Khan, the latter wouldn’t surprise me at all.

On the topic more generally, I think it's going to become a really big deal.
Fake news is already a huge thing, perhaps not so much in the mainstream media, but certainly in social media.
Although, the mainstream media's reporting of the IDF "hospital attack" recently was a good example - imo - of fake news bleeding into the mainstream.
As I see it, "fake news" right now, as a concept, is nothing in comparison to what we're going to see in the future.
