Saw this and found it depressing. As satire, this kind of thing could be funny in a Rory Bremner kind of way. But used as it will be to reinforce opinions, especially in more authoritarian countries, I can't see this contributing to anything that isn't a dystopia.

Can this even be policed?

How are you going to police it. Does it include snippets of video that show people in a bad light without context?
All you can do is point out the falsehoods and hope it gets through eventually as in this case.

Funny I did think the same myself- it could be either created by AI or Khan was rumbled and spouted the ‘it’s fake AI’ excuse!

Being Khan, the latter wouldn’t surprise me at all.

So has the fake news done it's job then?

On the topic more generally, I think it's going to become a really big deal.

I don't watch the news or read the papers. The whole thing seems to now compete with social media vs way back when it was facts.

Is there anywhere you go to get your news then?

What difference does it make if it’s AI lying to you or the real Khan

I guess that for someone that doesn't like him in the first place it doesn't matter much.

The point stands, like or no like. If <they> are lying then it doesn’t make any difference, and I think you’ll find they almost universally do.

Fake news is already a huge thing, perhaps not so much in the mainstream media, but certainly in social media.

Although, the mainstream media's reporting of the IDF "hospital attack" recently was a good example - imo - of fake news bleeding into the mainstream.

As I see it, "fake news" right now, as a concept, is nothing in comparison to what we're going to see in the future.

What if some fake news is made against someone you really like and don't think is a liar? Does that matter?
