Is another Bank about to go bust / require a bail-out / be taken-over?

Doesn’t Intelligent Money use them for cash accounts?

Cash in a pension wrapper here isn’t covered beyond the FSCS limit iirc.

They have adequate capital but it seems the market are concerned they don't have revenue to cover bond yields. So less a collapse more just not enough to make them a worthwhile investment.

Ah, but they've got nice modern banks shops centres lounges in prime shopping centre locations...

Metro is not a place I'd put my hard earned!

I’m not sure many of the mainstream banks are where I’d want my hard earned.

If you spend decades giving away free newspapers to people who aren't even customers then this is what happens.

I have never understood why when other banks are closing all their branches Metro Bank keep creating massive branches that look like the reception to a modern hotel.

There can't be that many people who want to store their family gold in a safety deposit box are there?

The fact they were always busy with people sitting down and meeting with advisors, being all super-important busy, and generally looking like an advert from an architects proposed model renders, meant it was obvious something wasn’t right. I assume they lent out money really easily or something.

I have an account with them that I use for holiday spending abroad, their app is good and never had any issues.

Alsways felt good having an option to have a safety deposit box, always felt like having one with something completely random inside. In the event that I die the people in my will would be thinking; I never knew he had a safety deposit box…I wonder what’s inside, some invaluable family jewels….ends up being a 10mm socket

Sort of thing I'd do!

Vaguely related but my dad's pal was a bit of a joke, he'd always take lots of washers to the beach for excited metal detection folk to find.
