Not Liverpool, happened just after my junction on the M53 this morning. The Wirral has been gridlocked all day.
Pupils from my old school. I understand the bus driver suffered a heart attack. So sad.

Yes I believe so. Doesn't mean the driver being taken ill didn't cause it. But it's only what's doing the rounds locally, I can't vouch for that fact.Saying there was collison with a car?
I do however have an eyewitness account from someone who was behind the coach at the time (there were other school buses in convoy) and the scene was carnage, one of the lads with life changing leg injuries. As a Dad, absolute worst nightmare, and I hate the way things blow up on social media - with parents seeing it on the likes of Facebook first, knowing their kids were on a bus at that location at that time.

sadly lost there lives.
Awful news and I'm so sorry for those that have been affected, particularly the fatalities and the lad with life changing injuries. Must have been horrendous for the families too and I suspect the news must have broken extremely quickly for them.
If it's any consolation at least it sounds like a pure accident that no-one could have foreseen. I only hope that the PCV medical etc was properly done for the driver and if it was a heart attack, it's not a similar incident to that Glasgow one a few years back where the driver concealed some information.
I gave my kids a big hug this morning just after we heard the news. They were off school for a wedding today but they're off on a school trip next week on a coach and it does just stop you in your tracks and think "what if". Having said that, you can't keep them wrapped up forever.

BBC news yesterday said that there were reports that the bus collided with a car but said police have asked people not to speculate.
If it was due to a heart attack, why was the motorway in both directions closed for so long?
think the photos show the reason quite well. If it was due to a heart attack, why was the motorway in both directions closed for so long?
His relatives have mentioned he "suffering medical issues at the wheel" in a gofundme for his funeral expenses (and those of his widow/children). I think it's very poor of them to state that at this early stage, especially in a request for donations. I assume it was based on offhand comments from police based on the circumstances.

Not everyone has the funds to cover an unexpected funeral and to potentially cope with the only household income disappearing overnight.
Who knows they might even want a day or two off to grieve too.
The absolute state of you.
Trying to raise money, within hours of such a tragedy, is a strange thing to do. It may be well meaning, but the timing is very hard to understand. Who knows they might even want a day or two off to grieve too.
The absolute state of you.
Whatever the reason for the accident, the family of the driver should understand that there are many many other lives impacted, and a go fund me page isn’t exactly a priority at this stage.

Diddums. Who knows they might even want a day or two off to grieve too.
The absolute state of you.
As for the 2nd last sentence, that’s sort of the point. Setting up a gofundme straight away is massively crass. Give them some time to grieve, both families.
How’s it going to look to the girl’s family if it turns out the driver was at fault here.
As for state of me, I’d rather be in my state than the clear utopian, delusional fantasyland existence you operate in.
