Strange how equality has to be enforced but only when it suits. If this lady lacks this physical capacity in her lungs or whatever then surely she is not fit for the job?
During my time in the services it was utterly galling that the women in training were allowed such leniency when they were not meeting standards whereas guys not meeting the standard were back termed, some even discharged.

Despite the issue at hand, 7.1 it's about 1100m in 7 minutes. Would have thought anyone doing a "physical job" at 30 years old regardless of sex could meet that.

Exactly. I would think women would be far better at a beep test as they are lighter. Beep tests are crippling because you have to stop and start again. I think from memory anything over 8 was tough and it went up to 10 maybe?
Ha, 10 is not tough at all unless you're 55! It goes up past 17 iirc.Errrr, all of the female AFO's on my force annually passed our bleep test and we ran to 9.4 - from those in their early 20's to those in their late 40's
Can't remember a serving female AFO on our teams ever dipping the test, plenty of applicants to the department failed it, just like their male colleagues did but the AFO's monitored and kept up their fitness.
The question for me is why an applicant who could not pass the test was ever taken on in the first place.

That looks like the 20m bleep test, as used by HM Forces. The Police, and I think Fire Service, use the 15m version.https://www.topendsports.com/testing/beep-table-al...
Level 7.6 takes just 5m 28s iirc, and is pretty easy, even for an old duffer like me (51). I’m usually more out of breath at the start due to nerves
I found the Forces one harder, even when I was in my late thirties. Had to reach 8.1 in my last year of service, aged 39.
