Firstly how do you cheat at chess ? and secondly using those methods ?
I think the suggestion is that the beads vibration is remote controlled, so someone could send you messages in the vibrations. Morse code perhaps. Clever idea if true!Firstly how do you cheat at chess ? and secondly using those methods ?
What the messages might be, no idea. Someone with more knowledge of chess will be along shortly!

I know SFA about chess, but I'm presuming that there's someone observing the game and running simulations of strategy, then advising the bottom buzzer with a code:Firstly how do you cheat at chess ? and secondly using those methods ?
1 buzz for move a pawn
2 buzzes for move the knight
.
.
.
.
10 buzzes and a screaming orgasm, plus anal bleeding for move the king?

Code would be easy. Chess board is 8 x 8. So just need 8 different codes and send 4 codes. First 2 are the position of the piece to move, second 2 where to move it to. A lot of the time the second 2 would not be needed.

Chess squares are coded as a1, to h8 so you'd need 16 different codes, unless you were going to risk using the same code for both bits & hope the first one didn't get lost in translation. 16 different buzzes from a string of beads is going some to encode such that it can be reliably read by the recipient's ringpiece.Code would be easy. All communicated via a code and the vibrations felt through something inserted in the body. It's quite far fetched!

The messages would obviously be moves. Moving a piece to a certain square, capturing a piece etc.

It isn't far fetched. Niemann has already admitted cheating in online games, so we know he has cheated in the past. And Carlsen seemed convinced it was highly suspicious, based on how Niemann kept making engine moves against him. It's only a story again now because Niemann dropped his legal action, on the basis he could be readmitted onto chess.com, and they accepted there was no definitive evidence he cheated in this over the board game. All communicated via a code and the vibrations felt through something inserted in the body. It's quite far fetched!

The thing is grandmasters are really really good players. Top GMs are yet another league. All communicated via a code and the vibrations felt through something inserted in the body. It's quite far fetched!
This isn't like they're a monkey making moves that are conveyed to them remotely. Tell them what piece to move, chances are they'll move it to the right square.
Heck, even just signalling that there's a critical idea in the position, and they should pay extra attention, could be enough to confer a game-winning advantage!
