I wonder how this will play out: https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-london-66915...

Article says: 'A passenger, 17, sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was arrested after being found with a machete'.

Good.

Atleast they included the fact he had a machete on him, makes it a little harder for certain politicians to deplore police brutality.

Good. Shame the passenger didn't get impaled by his machete as well.

Awaiting cries of support for the promising young footballers from the bleeding heart socialists who will say that it was the Police at fault.

I guess they had been out collecting mobile phones, handbags and other motorbikes for charity.

It was nice of them to spare the time from football practice.

I really hate the way that they’re referred to as “motorcyclists” - is this in the same way that joyriders in stolen cars are “motorists”?

I know it’s innocent til proven guilty (as I myself have argued in relation to Russell Brand demonetisation) but at least they could refer to them as “youths on a scooter” or whatever.

I really have no issue whatsoever with people killing themselves when trying to outrun the police/failing to stop etc. play stupid games etc. There’s no excuse at all. I hope the police involved have their lives restored to normal as soon as possible.

I can’t help but notice that the BBC’s report on the unfortunate death of this scooterist who sustained a fatal injury trying to evade a lawful stop became “a teenage motorcyclist “ whose passenger and their possessions were somehow not mentioned.
You might think their report was designed to inflame tensions; I of course couldn’t possibly comment.

A dignified and quietly respectful riot vigil complete with burned out vehicles and attended by riot police and well loved local characters alike will be just the tonic.

Hopefully some thoughtful souls will be along to place some stolen flowers, empty lager cans, vaping equipment and illiterate messages to their bruv on the bin soon. Something something angles blah blah xxx

Has Diane Abbott blamed the police for killing a promising footballer yet?

I react to this in exactly the same way I react to people getting gored by bulls at the bullrun, or in arenas.

With a grin on my face.

Reddit usually jokes if the shoe came off you die. They are onto something after all.
