Covid origin - swept under the carpet?
Discussion
I stumbled upon a podcast last night about the origin of covid and realised that, for a globally changing event that killed millions of people, "we" seem to have forgotten all about where it actually came from?
You'd have thought that finding it's origin would be kind of important in order to better understand or perhaps even prevent something similar happening again, but it seems to have been quietly forgotten by anyone who has the power to actually investigate it?
Have I missed some official finding along the way, or is there an official ongoing investigation that hasn't concluded yet?
Or has it been concluded that the cause cannot be found?
I think we're all well aware of the two main theories (lab escape or bat via wet market), so no need to go over those again, I'm merely interested in where the current scientific investigation is and if there isn't one, why not?

Because maybe it started in a closed country run by a dictatorship ?Seriously how are 'we' (by which I am assuming you mean the west) meant to investigate in a country we cannot do it in ?
China's government will not let us in the labs, will not let us have free access to any information, people, places.

This virus killed millions of their citizens and future viruses have the potential to do the same. And China responds with "Computer says No" and our governments just accept that?
And it has nothing to do with the fact that the US funded gain of function research on coronaviruses in that specific lab in Wuhan?

I believe attempts were made, investigators were blocked and hounded with no real conclusions reached.
We cannot investigate in China without the governments agreement and that ain't happening.
In a dictatorship where they will quite happily 'vanish' people with inconvenient truths, how do you think we could ever hope to investigate properly ?
But reading your link, any stuff we were involved in at a western gov level ? I can't imagine there will be much of a desire to investigate that too

The fact that our governments merely asked to take a look, were told "No" and then dropped it, speaks volumes to me.
I personally want answers to where this thing came from and what we're doing to prevent it happening again, much more than I'm interested in the latest celebrities sex crimes from 20 years ago. I'd hope others feel the same?
