No mention of Batteries here.

Is it not normal to await the fire brigade's report?

"Thought" to be the cause but "Battery Fire" as the thread title ?

I would probably wait for the Fire Brigades statement of cause before doing my "Electric cars bad, because batteries" thread.

So, it wasn't a battery fire then.

Looks like the op's thinly veiled anti EV rant has fallen flat on it's arse.

Nope, but they also haven't said it wasn't Bigfoot dropping a match while trying to light a cigar either, so that might be equally be the cause..

The latest news report says the fire started accidentally.

Exactly, it might be a battery fire, it might not. They don't know yet.

Welcome stated it wasn't a battery fire, hence me asking for the source.

If it was batteries, would they not still be burning, since as we have been informed that battery fires are impossible to extinguish?

Yes I am reasonably sure the fire service would more than likely have still been there for longer than that if it was batteries alight.
