Possibly the wrong forum but does anyone else hate the new App format?

Was always my go-to for catching the headlines. Assumed it was because it was new and I'd get used to it but it's been a few weeks and it's still worse than before.

Yep, Its rubbish. Had the old app set up with headlines, then swiped across to "my news" for more specialist stuff like local, science, technology etc.

Now it seems to mix all that up on the first page, so i get multiple instances of the same story as i scroll down, local news is no longer local, other stuff stays on the front page for weeks without updates.

It's not great, and I can't see what the update was supposed to achieve. I know stuff moves on, but the "old" layout worked well, and i can't see any advantages with the update.

They’ve completely broken it.

As well as the new vertical scrolling for my news, my feeds appear to never update and some of the categories have stories that are months old in them.

It’s almost unusable now. I can’t believe they did any user testing before releasing it as surely this would have revealed the obvious flaws in the new layout

Stopped using it when it started asking me to log in or set an account up.
To be honest though try and avoid anything to do with the BBC these days.

Yep. Went from decent to awful in one swoop.

For some reason, mine doesn't seem to refresh itself either.

Yeah... App.

I just go to the website. More functionality and they mess about with it much less frequently.

I've taken to dumping as many pointless "apps" as possible as most of them are just single use web browsers anyway.
