Not sure where this fits but I’m sure the mods will move if inappropriate.
Anyone else fed up with the scaremongering biased coverage on the BBC regarding net zero, climate change, record temperatures, sea temperatures et al?
Their “climate” editor Justin Rowlatt is getting right on my nerves with his constant ranting. When the government announced that they had given the go ahead for more oil & gas licences he made the deliberate gaffe saying “…..oil exploitation” when he was meant to say “…..oil exploration”. Of course he meant what he originally said.
This guy is the biggest hypocrite on the planet with him flying to Alicante to report on record temperatures - what an absolute joke and he defended it by saying he is a journalist and is paid to travel the world covering these stories.
His wife is an Extinction Rebellion supporter whilst his sister was charged in connection with an Insulate Britain protest on the M25.
Whatever happened to unbiased reporting - he’s more like a campaigner than a journalist? He should be shown the door.

Just another story for them to endlessly drone on about once the public gets bored or wise to their scaremongering

Brexit
Covid
Boris
Ukraine
Climate change.

You only have to look at the weather maps bright red for 30 degrees.

But because its a milder summer the reds and yellows come out on the rain maps for extra scaremongering.

Have you considered shouting really loudly at your television?

...or clouds....? Or watching another channel. Life really is too short to get so riled about stuff like this.

I've not had a TV license for 3 years now. Don't miss this at all.

3 years ago they said Rhyl is going to be under water by 2030. I'm going to keep an eye on that and see if it happens - as a test.

Strange how the BBC is always singled out.
The other channels all report the same stuff!

I listen to Radio 4 quite a lot and some of the reporting on there is enough by itself to warrant singling out the BBC... never mind the stuff broadcasting from other parts of their service.

They never report that our CO2 is so minimal compared to China, India, USA etc etc and our self flagellating effort to get us to net zero is comically ludicrous and irrelevant while the others cash in and make more cash by doing naff all. If any of our news is shown there they must be p1ssing themselves laughing at us. Net Zero for the UK is expensive, self harming and utterly pointless.

The BBC guy is a hysterical knob but they broadcast it without challenge. Perhaps get their super amazing validation or whatever they call it team on to him.

Not just the BBC obsessed with global boiling - it’s clearly very popular. The bbc report stating conspiracy theorists and nazis were at the ULEZ protests is another one that annoyed me.
It’s dead easy though - google some charts, copy and paste, maybe do some highlighting with red and black crayons, and hey presto yet another ‘scary’ climate story.
All sheep will need to be sheared twice a week by 2050 or their brains will fry in their skulls.
The elderly and vulnerable will die in their thousands if August temperatures reach 31 degrees. Chance would be a fine thing.

Or posting on this thread which has loads of stuff on media coverage of climate change?

https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&...

Or the ongoing "Down with the BBC!" thread which I cant find at the moment.

The notion that humans are responsible for what the climate of this planet does is now Received Wisdom.

It is not something that is a debatable issue lest you be treated as some kind of heretic.

It certainly feels as though the amount of coverage has increased. I’m also getting fed up of the constant negative droning from Rowlatt.

I understand the UK has almost halved its CO2 output in the last 30 years ? Why not a pat on the back & a “bloody great job team, we’ve got this, keep going, there’s a way to go but we’re doing great !!” instead it’s relentless doom mongering & prophecies.

They are, however, not forced to watch it.

I'll add this for them, global ocean temperature now at highest level ever recorded. Sadly, not reported exclusively on BBC but it is the lead story on 6 o clock news.

Perhaps we can apply the same logic that many did to the recent wildfires. They haven't been caused by humans, it was arson... smilesmile
