Seems another African state has had a government brought down by a pro Russian coup. Seems Africa is being taken over by China and Russia.
Apparently Niger is an important strategic country for the west with French bases and is important to NATO according to the news yesterday, not sure how.

How much over seas aid gets sent to countries like Mali and now Niger that are pro Russia/China?

Lots.
The UK has supported many countries in Africa, either directly, or via the UN. Been there and tried.
It's unsurprising the next generation of Colonialism by others is occuring.
Move along, nothing to see here... until the residents of Niger decide the UK is a better bet!
Awaiting the incoming.....

Army General was put in place by previous President.
“Democratic” elections take place, extant President loses.
New President is in place but criticised for strategy and corruption etc etc, is overthrown by Army General in coup.
Expect old President to replace Army General in the coming weeks.

What a particularly odious person you seem to be.
It must be soul destroying for you to have to live in the United Kingdom….

It’s pretty clear what’s going on…
Niger is rich in uranium
Certain countries would like that uranium
The previous administration weren’t that keen on those countries
Military coup occurs
A new administration, more favourable to those uranium seeking countries appears…

Or what warrants insulting them (which is contrary to the rules of posting, remember).
It is a simple matter of fact that instability and conflict will lead to increased in the number of people choosing to leave a region, and seek a better life in richer parts of the globe. (It will probably be France bearing the brunt of this though, rather than the UK)
I think there are global strategic issues at play by Russia, as well as just politics in Niger, so I don't want to turn this into another immigration thread.
But anyone who can't or won't join up the dots just has their head in the sand.

I’d say that the post by Pequod was pretty much spot on.
So why the insult?
