What incentive is there to pressure coutries to reform when so much money can be made out of sportswashing?

A lot of mostly western interests are 6 billion richer due to a journalist being murdered
A lot must be waiting for the next outrage to cash in.
Are middle eastern coutries in fear of the west? If they behaved better to their people and spent money on them
this would mean less going to the europe,Usa etc.
Would they be toppled from power? Is this why they are so awful?

I suspect if we actually took these countries to task over their human rights records, they'd probably point at the falklands, gibraltor, the mess we made in afghanistan and any other 'mess' we seem to be involved in. It seems the geopolitics is a complex issue and never as black and white as we think.
Just look at how much business is still happening with Russia.

Just listening about this Jordan Henderson move from Liverpool to Saudi.
It's in the news given Henderson's vocal support for the LGBT community and then his new club literally do this throughout their promotional video.

Marvellous. Isn’t it? Broke the mould. Theory out the window. Free expression of football. Uncategorisable. Is that a word? It is now! Far cry from small boys in the mosque, infidels heads for goalposts. Rush goalie. Two at the back, three in the middle, four up front, one's gone home for a stoning. Beans on toast? Possibly, don't quote me on that. Marvellous.
Sport makes any country look good. Ask 100 random tourists to name the 1st thing that comes into their head when you mention London and the amount who say Wimbledon will far exceed those who say Grenfell.
Western nations have always used sport as part of their marketing, we're all of a sudden become offended by it because countries we don't like are doing it,

In short, that's geopolitics.
Another word that is applicable is hypocrisy. We are quite happy to ally ourselves with murderous regimes when it suits our national interests. However we're happy to criticise and attack countries whose regimes don't suit our national interests.
Us attacking other countries - absolutely fine
Other countries retaliating - terrorism
