Hope this waste of space gets his comeuppance in prison. He'll be eligible for parole in 12 years.

She managed to escape, called police at around 3.10am and was able to remember three digits of the car’s registration plate.

Within minutes, officers located the vehicle – a silver Mercedes estate - and stopped it in Preston Circus following a short pursuit. Head was arrested at the scene.
Credit where it's due, great job by the Police here. Undoubtedly prevented others being attacked.

The police website refers to posing as a taxi driver, this news article mentions that he simply pulled over and offered the women a lift, but had business cards with "N-Uber" on them. Possibly he mentioned to the women that he was ending his shift and would drop them off for nothing?

Either way, seems dumb to put your phone into flight-safe mode but still use your own relatively uncommon car with personalised plates!

Seems bizarre though that in the same paper, there is this case, with an 18 year sentence not 23?

Some proper scum about.

And to the victim for remembering the registration plate. Not easy while in the midst of such a traumatic experience.

Obviously all sorts wrong with that one but how monumentally thick would you have to be to use your own car with your own rather distinctive private plate on it confused

I think any woman who was assaulted in that car was not getting out alive.

Put like that well quite.

But CCTV and just general chances of being spotted etc.

Forensics.

Everything he could do wrong, he did.

Maybe his desire to attack girls completely overrode any sense of caution?

If you were planning something like this, using your own vehicle, relying on some cheap latex gloves that you keep in that car as part of ‘your kit’; asking to be caught.

Madness.

It's the same sort of stupidity as Couzens - he abducted Sarah Everard in a car he hired himself, and which was on its actual plates.

He was sentenced to 18 years plus an additional 5 years on licence after release, hence the 23.
