BBC News - Gateshead match abandoned after hearse drives onto pitch
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-tyne-6627389...

It seems there's some kind of vendetta between two parties, but a hearse is probably pretty traceable?

You shouldn't make jokes, this is a grave matter.

My grandfather was head groundsman at a lower league football club and for over 60 years, interrupted only by military service he tended to the pitch, winning many prestigious awards. His dying wish was to be scattered after death in the centre circle.

In retrospect we should have had him cremated first.

Tried to read the replies to that post but every other one is a stty sponsored advert making it virtually unreadable.

Sounds like some local hard men are taking issue with some folk at the club associating with people they are accusing of being p*dos. More to this by the look of it.

Pretty brazen actions though. You would imagine the hearse and car can be traced (presume stolen!). Given the threats to life you would imagine that plod will take an interest.

Yep. The Sayers are a notorious "Crime Family" up here & Steve has a reputation as a hard man from when he used to work the doors in the Viv Graham days and has a bit of a history himself.

These days you're more likely to see him on the TV/Radio talking about crime or NUFC.

Only a couple of miles away from me. The police had the helicopter up most of the evening. It’s a tiny, local FC, so I’m quite surprised at the reports it’s in relation to a beef with the owners.

Just get on with it and carry out your 'threat' instead of doing the low end hard man act like a bunch of idiots.

Assume there's some caravans involved somewhere?
