Anyone able to post a link to the full video? Someone must have grabbed it? Doesn't seem to be on YouTube.

Somewhat annoying that it's a major news story but the full video isn't available.

Found a written version in another thread. Seems reasonable to me.

EDIT to correct link, thanks for pointing it out, Oakey.

Apparently he has taken it down himself after realising that it was not going down too well.

These things usually appear on YouTube though. I'm surprised it isn't anywhere.

Mind you, the Telegraph Article satisfies me, I assume that's pretty much what the video was saying.

It's ok, he's expressed regret. Time to move on and focus on something a Labour MP did in 1762.

It does seem indicative of the increasing public nature of the Tories civil war.

As an individual, I do actually like Tobias Ellwood. But on this occasion he did rather over enthuse a bit about the achievements of the Taliban.

I can't see anything overly scandalous in that article. We may have to hold our noses if dealing with the Taliban, but a more stable Afghanistan is surely what everyone wants?

Yup. I don't know if he's right or not but he seems to be making a coherent case.

I think it is possible to say some positive things about Afghanistan now under the Taliban and to further say it vindicates Biden's decision to withdraw. The issue was more that he didn't mention the many negatives and sounded like he was the newest member of the Taliban tourism board.

It was a misstep, particularly with how sensitive the issue of women's rights is there.

He addresses women's rights in the article so I'm pretty sure he would have in the vid.

I can see why those who've invested flesh may be less than happy. Bit early for pragmatics maybe.

'We' seem fine holding our noses whilst dealing with many, many other governments?

I only saw it once, and now it has vanished apparently, but as I said I don't remember anything like that in it.
