At the moment, aiui, if an MP stands up in parliament and makes untrue statements, parliamentary privilege means no-one can call them out on it. Should this be changed? Nobody likes liars.

Oh they get called out don't they. You're not allowed to call anyone a Liar, but there are clever and amusing ways of saying the same thing.

Dennis Skinner: "Half the tories opposite are crooks and lairs."
Speaker: "Please retract"
Dennis Skinner. "Half the tories opposite aren't crooks or liars"

Lying to parliament is not generally tolerated. Hence bye bye Boris.

What MPs can do is disregard injunctions and say things they would not be allowed to say elsewhere.
