Stinky hybrid cars

News that hybrid cars are five times more polluting than vehicles running fully fossil fuel. Talks underway to ban these hybrids from U.K. roads. It’s old news but I cannot recall an earlier thread on this subject. Bit like diesel cars, buy one now and we ban it in seven years time.

Cranky is a little confused, to say the least, and there's nothing in that article that is news. The plan has long been to stop sales of new IC cars in 2030, and hybrids in 2035. Existing vehicles won't be affected, although as time goes on it may be more difficult to source IC fuels. Quite where he gets 'hybrids are 5 times more polluting than a fully IC' car, I don't know.

I did say it was old news, and I did say I couldn’t find a thread on the matter. All the info is in the address I offered. If posters seek further you will find all the info’ on the matter.
It’s the same as for the old fossil fuel cars, as I said.
Climate change committee stated yesterday that hybrids are up to five times more polluting than full fossil fuelled cars.

No it doesn’t. It does however say “Hybrid cars are a great way to help reduce your carbon footprint before adopting a zero-emissions lifestyle by getting an electric car.”. Which seems odd since you claim they pollute more.

No I don’t think I have, so much information on the matter. Just watched a piece on GBNews about the issue.
