As title, GBNews has scooped up the TRIC (television & Radio Industries Club) awards at last nights ceremony. Beating to the top spots the old regulars such as BBC & Sky. These awards are entirely and only won from voting by the public, a major achievement for the fledgling broadcaster.
Even Nigel Farage program came out on top.
Lots of glum faces elsewhere.

I'm not sure I'd shout too much about the quality of TRIC award winners - here are some other notables picking theirs last year.....

Hardly surprising. Well done GBN.

Where can we find the stats to see how much viewers BBC news have lost in the recent past?, it surely has relevance to the
success of GBN?

I believe BBC News has dropped viewers since it merged the channel with BBC World News but is still comfortably ahead of GB News according to this

Farage was good on LBC in so much as he's actually listenable and a good presenter.

Must admit I'm surprised GB News seems to have lasted as long as it has but there's obviously an audience there.

I like GBNews - the interviews are refreshing - and yes it has right wing leaning but it's done in a so obvious fashion that it's funny. The Nigel Farage show is not what you'd expect - it's very balanced. TalkTV still gets my vote though - as it is more balanced.

Had never heard of TRIC before this. I don't see the relevance of it being a public vote. Does it make it more prestigious or not?

(If you guy's have got the popcorn out I may as well give you a reason)

Some may say it more accurately reflects what joe public actually watches rather than what the industry itself votes for.

His speech. Gets a bit rowdy. The speech was little unfairly clipped this morning on ITV; to him saying to the crowd "I feel sorry for all of you"

An orchestrated campaign for a barely watched show to win a gong.
The power of social media!

I thought "GBNews" was a remake of "Not the 9 o'clock News".

I mean, have you seen the Moggalogue?

Agreed, I didn’t watch the broadcaster until just a few months back, entertaining and informative.
Haven’t tried TalkTV as yet.
