I don't think that joke works in 2023. Should it ever have worked?

Seems to be reported in too many places to be a joke?

BT have apparently implemented their backup system and calls getting connected again now.

Apparently the middle 9 is still working from home and was out in the garden filling its pond with a hosepipe.

When I made it, my post was number 3 but the "joke" post has since been deleted. At least I made things easier for the moderators by not quoting the joke, even though it looks a bit confusing now.

Russian hacking? Were the problems at airports a month or two ago due to hacking? Perhaps we'll never know?

I genuinely don't know if it has happened before. I have not googled it.
From memory I can't ever remember an outage but there may well have been at some point.
But I think the sentiment in your post is bob on.

Ah just understanding this now and wondering why bhie was seemingly verifying my post
Yes there was a post after mine that had an old joke in it which has since been removed

I think the outage is over and some back up system is now in place

Interesting, a mate is working on a phone upgrade at one of the forces and they lost 999 last week, seems it may not have been the work they were doing at initially thought.

No problem. I'm glad it went but it was confusing.
