Absolute scum, and i hope his disabilities cause him as much pain and discomfort as possible.

Does anyone know if he might receive a whole life term?

I'm kind of assuming for something so heinous it's a given.

Yes, I was pleased to read he had been permanently injured by his own shooting. A small crumb of comfort.

The Sergeant sounded like he was a thoroughly decent chap, RIP.

Whole life term.

There was a documentary on BBC Breakfast this morning that went into a fair degree of detail.

Utterly staggering in every sense.

Does anyone know what his motive was. There's a theory that he was going to kill his parents and got randomly stopped on the way.

Appears he claims he can't remember why he did it, which, given his injuries, is possibly true.

Glad he got a whole life term, and glad he's badly disabled.

On a positive note the policemen involved at the time of the shooting were fantastic. Two got him immediately under control and others clearly ran towards the shots to help. GCs all round as far as I'm concerned.

Agreed but how did they miss the massive revolver the guy had on him? Looking at the graphics on the link it looks to be a foot long.
