Sunak et al have waged war in order to keep public sector wage increases down.

Sunak et al have called for private sector wage restraint.

Many commentators believe wage increases are fuelling inflation & mandating ever-higher interest rates.

Thanks to largely Tory incompetence, 25% of our national debt is index-linked and debt interest is now one of the single largest line item of Govt expenditure, with the potential to exceed NHS spending!

And, of course, most people are now rather poorer, coming on top of years of lost growth.

Yet now Sunak at PMQs states:

Sunak said:
We are delivering…the fastest wage growth in years
I know many may think the question redundant, but are these people wholly shameless?

Of course they are.

They know exactly what they've done.

£600bn of wealth transferred from the public purse to private hands during the pandemic... and yet most of us are poorer. Where did it go?

shameless tbf.

if those on PAYE were paying 23% tax like Sunak we would not need such pay rises.

if a 3 bed house didn't cost half a million due to uncontrolled immigration and no house building, if childcare didn't cost 1.5k pm etc. etc.

if the BOE was not totally incompetent inflation would not be as rampant .

let's not forget the Tory campaign for private sector companies to give their workers a pay rise.

time for a change of drivers at the wheel.

Another to add to the list is care home costs, around £3k monthly.

If the immigration’s been uncontrolled, why is childcare expensive?

I’d also question why the government seems to want to make doing business as unattractive and complicated as possible , policies of the mad house for energy and immigration , eye watering taxes !! If you do these things to me I’m going to pass the increased overheads on to my customers !!

so not income if it's subject to CGT and therefore comparing apples to oranges when comparing that tax rate to PAYE

Isn't it much the same when Labour berate the Tories for spending cuts, then 5 minutes later berate them for the debt going up?

Just politics.

Indeed. It's this story, pointing out that he's benefitted from a policy he spoke in favour of and voted for, and making the comparison between the treatments of earned income and capital gains.

That's not the immigration we had pre-Brexit.

Because we have been running a no-skilled immigration policy for quite a while now. Would you want a 25 year old man who threw his passport into the sea looking after your kids?
