Boris Johnson & Donald Trump
Discussion
What is the difference between the ex UK Prime Minister and former US President Donald Trump?
I don't follow each other at all closely now, but the similarities seem almost uncanny..
I'll just comment by saying each of these men have an "It's not me" attitude and quickly blame conspiracies against them, or it's everyone else that is at fault.. Lie and deny seems to be their joint narrative..?
The ex US President appears to be able to keep his core-base intact, where as Johnson's is getting smaller?
Opinions please.......

Johnson dropped in on Trump a week or so back, I think they swap notes and probably enjoy laughing at how gullible their base supporters are. On the subject of Johnson’s getting smaller, I think Trumps has always been small, Johnson’s Johnson has no base from what I can see, it seems to be itinerant. With Johnson making his resignation official earlier, he and Trump are both finally out of office...
Have to have a bit of fear that they could both be back late 2024, early 2025.
God help us..
I'm hopeful that the zeitgeist is turning in a better direction. Johnson and the Poundland Mussolini have been a low point for the planet in recent years, let's hope we can do rather better as we try to move on.Have to have a bit of fear that they could both be back late 2024, early 2025.

I suspect Johnson will fall comfortably into the role of a highly renumerated after-dinner speaker/celeb and trump will have his (teeny) hands full staying out of prison.

They are narcissists who cannot acknowledge their own failures. I don't follow each other at all closely now, but the similarities seem almost uncanny..

The nature of politics is that there will always be people who disagree with you, and who would like to replace you. Democracies make this a less violent battle; but it is just nature.
Them pretending like its something novel and new that others would want to take them down, that they've been unfairly targetted is pure bullst.
They both made choices that have led to their respective downfalls.

According to some bod this morning on the tv he is already earning £3m a year on ‘the circuit’.I suspect Johnson will fall comfortably into the role of a highly renumerated after-dinner speaker/celeb and trump will have his (teeny) hands full staying out of prison.

I just don't understand why some people follow each of them so slavishly. Truly deluded.
That's what has amazed me about both of them. Devoting any time or effort to supporting someone who is so blatantly only out for themselves and is free of any redeeming characteristics does not compute, yet they seem to have drawn out more passion than most.
I'm sure you can be right wing and also acknowledge that such people are pieces of st.
And neither actually embody any ideology anyway.
They both succeed because they rule against the current ‘woke’ political agenda.
Politics is currently shifting to extremes and Boris/Donald will one gain from that. They have a common enemy, whereas the left are paralysed by not wishing to offend.
I’m not a supporter of either, but they are garnering support because the populous is sick of being told that they are out of touch by a bun h of politicians and activists who are themselves out of touch

Very similar.
This is because the disgraced Johnson’s first instinct is ‘what would Trump do’?
Both now consigned to the scrap heap.
Johnson destroyed the Tories in the process. Good work!
That’s a very naive view. They both have millions of supporters, unless they want to voluntarily retire the are far from the scrap heap. This is because the disgraced Johnson’s first instinct is ‘what would Trump do’?
