Well at least twitter was amusing. Not sure snooker is the ideal high profile protest site for these idiots. Summer of mentalists doing stupid stuff ?

I wonder if it is because of the car-related sponsor - Cazoo? Possibly there is no actual reason, other than the colourful mess that has resulted.

Have you ever seen Ray Reardon’s barnet?

In other news, I suspect it’s just a very easy event to sneak into, in the sure knowledge it’s televised and will get publicity.

That’s the thing. The media have largely stopped reporting their protests and daubing corporate head offices is yellow paint, so visible action against live events will likely increase. It’ll be hilarious if they try and take on 6000 of HM Armed Forces on coronation day.

WTF? I just saw this on ITV News: https://www.itv.com/news/2023-04-17/world-snooker-...
Is it 'coz the balls are made of hydrocarbons? Non-vegan baize? Things are getting a little out of hand presently.
However, I did spot that the ref was having none of it - (I recognise him, but forget his name...) I think he may have been a bouncer in a previous career!

It's just publicity seeking - JSO will say it's for the 'cause' - I maintain it's the individuals looking for internet 'fame'

Not sure they've thought this through. They're increasingly trying to piss more and more people off and whilst they might have a point about climate change, people will get tired of their st and just go back to how they want to live, environment be damned.

Trouble is it's getting dangerous when idiots do this as famous people will fear for their safety, where will it lead for live events?

I guess this is what happens when a generation of young people are indoctrinated with 'climate crisis' fear stories. The likes of the COP27 charade will be taken seriously by them, especially as debate isn't allowed. They will actually believe that there is 10 years to 'save the planet' and that stopping oil will save them. Shame on the people that spread the fear.

The climate change link is, according to Tom presenting the 10.00clock news, due to climate change we are all snookered. biggrin
Waiting to see how they are going to disrupt World darts, should be fun. Or better still interrupt a heavyweight boxing match.

They had a go at Silverstone during last year's F1 race. They were lucky that the race was red flagged for a first corner incident before the cars got to where they were trying to get onto the track. It could have got very messy had they succeeded and the pack was in full charge.

Quite.

We have, apparently, have had ten years to save the planet since 1998 (thanks MBH98)

These are a lunatic fringe.

They don’t represent young people (one of them was 52 anyway). Young people aren’t indoctrinated.

They are more environmentally conscious, but far from indoctrinated. In fact we should all strive to be environmentally conscious (but not lunatic fringe!).

I know I don't want to know, but is what is poking out of those trousers what I think is - but don't want to think is - actually poking out of those trousers?

I think it's time these protesters were commuted to re education camps.

Here me out.

Make it a really nice camp but nothing there concerned with oil.

No plastics, no electricity, no TV, no radio, telephones, medicines, toiletries, refrigerators, batteries, candles, medicines, detergents etc.

Basically, a few months of a pre industrial, medieval type lifestyle.

Let's see how many of them want to Just Stop Oil after that.
