It’s going to be interesting to watch as it’s very easy to get onto the track.

I can't see them being there furlong even if they do get in.
Could be a bit of a 'mare with long faces all round.

Nothing new here.

I’m not a race fan at all but our local pub social club organising a weekend to the National many years ago.

Which happened to be 1993.

Do they even need to break in or can they just buy tickets?

Break into / onto the course. Buy tickets to get into Aintree.

My ladies of Aintree topic was taken done by PH Mods, shame as it’s normally the best laugh I have all year.

I was born on grand national day so I have always had a flutter of a few rank outsiders as it’s a bit of fun for a few quid of bets, and who knows I might get really lucky one day.

It’s a hard race on the horses though, and there is always a few that sadly have to be put down.

So in part I see the point the activists are making, but then again the horses are bred for racing and that’s what they are trained to do for their working lives.

Plus it’s a race that’s enjoyed by hundreds of thousands of people in the UK plus many more From other countries too.

I hope it continues for the many that enjoy the spectacle and the excitement of a small wager too.!

If that's true, that a 'few always have to be put down' then this is just a modern version of the violent amphitheatre's of Rome. Do the horses who are trained to potentially give their lives in the race given a choice?

Sounds barbaric to me. If humans want to engage in dangerous sports that's up to them, they know the risks. Involving animals should be banned.

Hope the protesters completely ruin the spectacle.

So it doesn't matter about it being hard on the horses as lots of people enjoy it?

I never really got why the fences have to be so high that the horses risk breaking legs jumping them. Seems unnecessary and you could surely get the same excitement with smaller fences. But I freely admit I don't have much experience in horse-racing so could be ignorant.

Yes. There’s a horse running called Mr Incredible who has refused to race before now just simply stood there and said get off my back I’m not bothered.

All kicking off now. Looks pretty robust policing/security, but at least 2 of the Muppets have got to one of the jumps. Looks like they trying to attach themselves - glue(???)
Commercial break right now...

Idiots. They are attention seekers and nothing more, without any understanding how race horses are treated.
