Minimum pension amounts to 1,200 euro’s month. 85% of their minimum wage. Compare that to the derisory offering in the U.K.
Well, it's going up in UK in April and will be €1000/mth . I don't know how the overall cost of living compares these days but recent comments about how expensive vegetables are in France are interesting.turbobloke said:
The pension age change being suggested is 62 to 64, small violins required. Or not?
And yet the pension age in the UK is inevitably going to rise to 68 (and beyond no doubt) and we just accept it.Sheepshanks said:

My parents both get a state pension, both of them get more than the standard amount for some reason. They are both very happy with the amount they get, it certainly doesn't stop them going on holiday for months at a time.
Depending on age they may be in receipt of SERPS which was replaced by the new state pension for new pensioners from 2016 which is often significantly less generous. Edited by JagLover on Tuesday 7th March 12:31

Minimum wage is for working. You're suggesting people who don't work should get nearly as money for doing nothing?
Where do you propose that money comes from? From workers no doubt?
