It is 1444 in the Islamic calendar.

Which sounds about right.

Things will be much easier after 2383 when by my maths they will have had the Enlightenment.

(Presuming we agree that the Enlightenment was complete in Europe by 1804, co-incidental with the death of Immanuel Kant.)

Seen the video where the mother sits there and is shamed at the local mosque, and the one if the police chief giving a grovelling apology whilst dismissing the death threats. But it should be no surprise, hate crime legislation has lead to de facto blasphemy laws.

So............... burning poppies is ok but damaging their book is unacceptable.

I'm not sure I can support the inequality.

The hate crime is threatening a child over a book.

It's a race to the bottom as I see it

Not sure how it helps multiculturalism other than widening the division

Suspending them for a week after dropping it is bad enough. All the rubbish afterwards with the police, mum, school etc apologise to the baying mob is an utter embarrassment.

Presumably the mother would be apologising to the local church if it was a Bible that was damaged?

Oh, wait....

I agree the Express is an absolute joke. Did it not strike you there might be more to the story which might make the out come seem reasonable.

I know nothing about the story so I might be wrong. But I do know the whole business model of the Express is to get frothers to froth.

How can threatening to kill someone over a book ever be reasonable?

So the Jerusalem Post has a correspond in Wakefield?

It just looks like they reprinted the Express story.

The question anyone who wants to avoid frothing should ask about the story. Might there be some past history with this individual. Maybe not the first time he has acted in this way.

I have no defence for the death threats but I I notice the Express does not provide details and it seems the Police are not investigating.

The lad bought the book from a shop like any other mass produced bit of literature.
It's his book to do with as he likes.

There absolutely is more. The whole background is glossed over. The title and much of the content try to imply the boys brought a copy of the Quran in to school and accidentally dropped it in the corridor. That in itself makes no sense and there is clearly more behind the suspension. The dare around a game of Call of Duty says there is a lot more to this.

The death threats are also utterly unacceptable, but we have no idea about the details. The reporting seems to show it is from another pupil at school, and police “words of advice” seems appropriate.

This seems very much like highly biased reporting to stir up anger.

So predictable.

Does this article meet your high standard of sensitivity?
Or is Ben Sixsmith also a "frother"?

It's the same police force that actively covered up the rape of white children by Muslims so I expect full capitulation.

I expect within a couple of hours the usual handful of faux outragers will be in here telling us how PH is all racists.
