But is what he said actually racist? Or are the 26% who voted that it was not OK to be white the racists instead?
It does seem like a pretty dumb poll.

It does seem very much like these situations are being created where it’s impossible to comment on things without getting themselves into trouble.
There doesn’t seem to be any comment on the fact that 26% of black people polled thought it wasn’t ok to be white, that’s pretty racist.
Saying you should keep away from black people is a rather dumb thing to say though.

He wasn't forced into his comments though, it was his own You Tube channel, he could have just avoided the topic altogether.ThunderSpook said:

Especially when your clients (and who they support / spend their money with) are highly visible and under a huge amount of public scrutiny. Being more visible does set a higher standard, like it or not.Hard to see how he can recover from this and deservedly so. Whataboutism from the poll he referred to doesn't excuse him.
All a bit ironic considering I used to think of the "Elbonia discrimination against left-handedness" themes in his work as a commentary on the absurdity of prejudice / discrimination. Maybe I was wrong!

I find it hard to believe his claims that this will ruin him (financially).
Dlibert’s been going since 1989, surely he’s not spent everything he’s made from it in the last 34 years?
Where are those claims, He said that most of his income will be gone by next week and his career is over. Dlibert’s been going since 1989, surely he’s not spent everything he’s made from it in the last 34 years?

It's been deleted from my bookmarks. My boycott may have no effect on him. I've had fierce ad blockers on my browser for years anyway. But that's a point of view of the world which is repugnant to me.

This is some of what he said
"........Based on the current way things are going, the best advice I would give to white people is to get the hell away from Black people. Just get the fk away,” Adams said. “Wherever you have to go, just get away. Because there’s no fixing this. This can’t be fixed. So I don’t think it makes any sense as a white citizen of America to try to help Black citizens anymore. It doesn’t make sense. There’s no longer a rational impulse. So I’m going to back off on being helpful to Black America because it doesn’t seem like it pays off.........”
Actions have consequences.

Some weird people are easily convinced that equality, whether gender or racial, is a threat to them. Idiots seem easily convinced by these arguments.
Seems he's fallen into exactly that rabbit hole and should have known better than to make his ridiculous views public if he wanted to keep his income stream.

Dilbert has had some absolutely perfect nailing of corporate culture over the years, and many of the strips are hilarious, but Adams has been parroting things from the US lunatic segment for quite some time now, and it doesn't shock me that he's finally said something bad enough to seriously affect his business.

If the question had asked white people about black people would the question itself have caused outrage. I believe it would as fundamentally it is a racist thing to ponder. Just like the actual question asked.
We really are falling overourselves to find new ways to offend each other and allow racist comments to bubble up. Why ask at all. Would it have been better to ask As a black person did you feel threatened and or deemed by white people. In essence asking do you still feel equality has a long way to go rather than asking if the other group has a right to exist.
