Only affects Asda and Morrisons apparently - so probably invisible to the PH Waitrose shoppers biggrin

But, seriously? This feels like the media trying to create more panic buying. We've not noticed anything - has anyone else?

Morrisons yesterday, definitely noticed that the salad shelves were depleted, zero lettuce, and much reduced toms. Much better today, looked about 80% stocked.

I've seen more items being marked out of stock (not Morrisons) as I browse for my delivery orders generally, but so far it's not been anything I've been able to wait for or get an alterative.

Only thing I have noticed is the local Tesco express hasnt had peppers on a few occasions. When I went to the co op they also didnt have any and he said we sold loads today, presumably because Tesco didnt have any. But ordered from big Tesco and they had some.

No doubt idiots will start buying way more fruit and veg than they can ever eat and end up throwing away like the early lockdown days.

It always seems that the egg shelves are decimated at Tesco when I go.

Can’t remember the last time I bought a tomato that wasn’t in a tin and I can manage with 1 cucumber a week.

Bacon makes a tasty alternative to lettuce and tomatoes can be substituted with meatballs.
We can get through this!

Aldi today, definate tomato shortage, as in none apart from on the vine cherry, Sainsburys had some but not much, neither had peppers apart from green..... no thanks!

Managed to get eggs though in Sainsburys, picked up 2 dozen, Aldi as usual had no eggs what so ever.

You need to start a recipe tips thread - this is important public information!

They certainly have in my local Asda, in fact the store has been woeful on a lot of daily food for a long time, countless times the bread isle is looking like something from 1980's USSR, eggs have not been there for months now, salad cream was another they didn't have for weeks and now I notice tomamtoes shelves are empty.

Tesco near by however, never seem to have a shortage.

But...picked up some cherry tomatoes, yellow and green peppers at Tesco on our way home. No red peppers.....but I expect we'll survive.
