It has an even longer history (back to the 1950s) if you follow the entire family tree of the airlines that formed and eventually merged to create Flybe.

They nearly went bust before Covid, and were rescued by a consortium including Stobart Airlines and Virgin Atlantic. They staggered getting this sorted into Covid, where VA and Stobart naturally prioritised saving their mainline businesses and hence Flybe died very early on.

Yes but then went into admin again last year. Was resurrected by Thyme Opco who bought the brand from administrators. Was always going to struggle using a fleet of older inefficient planes.

Not to mention that their operations are fairly clunky. Delayed waiting for the Flybe flight is fairly common.

Mostly leased, so not many in terms of assets.
Wonder how much their slots/routes amount to?

Very true a few years ago.
You didn't want to book on their last departure of the day!
They weren't called flymaybe for nothing.
