She states she ” hasn’t enough left in the tank “ to do the job properly. Is this the case or is there a back story?

She is tired apparently but also increasing unpopular at home as the costs of pandemic response become apparent.

She was a megalomaniac in office, just utterly wretched. There could well be some scandal behind the scenes that has led to this announcement. NZ will be better off without her if they can secure proper governance again.

They think we could have done the same as NZ. Shut the borders for 3 years, mandate jabs, and get pretty much zero deaths. But this "kind, caring" plan was thwarted by the nasty evil Tories

WOW, nice to see the usual anti vaccine/anti covid lot immediately jump in with both feet.

We've friends in NZ, she's very much seen in a positive light for keeping the country safe...but she has a young family

She's still the most popular political leader there, but rising prices etc have caused her popularity to fall.

As someone who suffered for her policies, 'effin good riddance. I'm surprised at how quick many NZ'rs have gone from love to hate in such a short time (an economy shot to pieces maybe). My daughter and son-in-law are in the process of shutting down their business in Auckland as it's not worth the hassle anymore, the main problem being Kiwis that don't want to do a proper days work.
