The BBC tell us 2022 was the warmest year on record. It was indeed a lovely summer. Then the mild autumn until mid December saved on heating bills.

As the temp here is 3C lower than London I fail to see the problem. I would be delighted if our climate changed to match southern England.

Will it help if I drive more and go long haul for my holidays this year?

Concerns about climate change aren't really about whether it might get a bit warmer in places like Scotland or, for instance, Sweden. Do you honestly really think that?

Concerns about climate change aren't really about the climate, it's control and wealthy distrubution.

Rich people are that concerned about climate change that 1500 took private jets to see Attenborough talk, just so they could lecture us on the danger of CO2.

Perhaps. The actions of a small nation of about 1% of the world population doesn't
matter very much on a global scale.

Many more people die of cold in the winter in the UK than die of heat in the summer, so bring
on slightly warmer UK temperatures.

It's only 400 years since the last mini Ice Age and 15,000 years since the last Ice Age,
so I am not surprised the UK is warming up a little bit. Given the scale of geological time,
15,000 years is the day before yesterday.

The good news is that the UK is leading the world in new tech to cope with slightly raised temperatures.
All looks good to me.

If the UK didn't tax them punitively, I'd be out buying a V8 to help with global warming.

The BBC seem to think Scotland being warmer (but colder than England) is a problem. I don't. I welcome it. More please.

Funnily enough, Brits retire to warmer Spain but Spaniards don't retire to the UK. Wonder why? Could it be a warmer climate is more pleasant?

The so called summer heatwave didn't stop me getting out cycling. Icy roads over the past few weeks have.

Our climate is cold enough that it kills thousands in the winter. 28'300 in England and Wales in the pre Covid winter 2019-20. So in what way is the climate getting slightly warmer a problem?

Not a problem for anyone living here. Mild winters warm summers yes please. Nobody is going to argue with that.

You'll have to point me to the bit about it being a problem for Scotland.

Quite.. it’s about fear , control and taxes ..
The Chinese and the hard of thinking along with crustyies , watermelons and Marxists love the west’s obsession with it and the economic damage it causes ..

Uses the phrase "Scientists have long warned about it " which implies it is bad.

Long warned about climate change. Not sure what the problem with that part of the article.

Do you really think they had to invent climate change for that? Politicians and big business could have a far easier way to control us and make money by just encouraging us all to spend and consume. The door is still wide open for anyone that wants to promote that option.

Exactly rich people want poor people to lower their CO2 emission by pricing them into having a lower standard of living and not being able to run cars, go on holiday or even put the heating on.

The rich will still keep their multiple mansions, private jets, yachts, supercars, massive SUVs and constant holidays.

Isn't it better for rich people if countries are richer and people are making, providing and spending more?

Yes, he does, and so do several others, who I’m sure will be along shortly to tel you it is all a lie and how we have all been fooled because some tiny minority of scientists have a quibble over some aspect of the data and it’s not happening but it is but it’s fine but something something something we won’t kill EVERYTHING!!!!

It’s pointless arguing with people who will happily dismiss 99.9% of experts and then get upset when you point out their pet “expert” doesn’t even work in the field.

People won't have any less money, just less choice on what they have to spend it on.
If heating cost £3500 PA then 2 weeks in benidorm is a lower priority
