What a sad situation for this girl - radicalised, groomed, and eventually killed herself.

Often linked to the parents and lo and behold

Evidence shows the then-partner of Rhianan's mother also had an influence. Ms Carter says this was kept from her.

The partner, American Dax Mallaburn, had been part of a white supremacist prison gang in the US. He met Rhianan's mother via a pen pal system for prisoners.

The mum wants to assign blame, but SHE brought these losers into her life. Her decisions did this by being a st parent. Compo face though.

Pick better people to being into your kids lives.

I doubt this "right wimg extreamism" didnt go as far as, you know, blowing up children at an Ariane Grande concert that left wing extreamism led to

Lazy policing of an easy target and yet another example of the systems put in place to assist vulnerable children not being followed.

Is it a competition in your eyes? I doubt Nazi sympathisers and far right terrorists are the misunderstood, cuddly bunch you purport them to be. Extremism is bad in all it's forms, wouldn't you agree?

Since when has Islamic extremism been "left wing"? confused

Or are you just upset that because the article referenced right wing extremism and want to indulge in "grrr lefties"?

Awful situation.

Reminds me of Shamima Begum tbh, kids not being protected from the influence of hate.

Agree on this, it's the flip side of the coin.

Shamima on one hand however should be left to rot in a refugee camp... this girl has been let down by the authorities, family & society....

What's the difference that one was let down by authorities etc and the other "should be left to rot"

Both young girls who were groomed into extreme ideologies and made poor decisions.

Wow! So the mother met an inmate doing time, linked to this type of group and decided, yeh, he seems like a stable sort of chap to introduce to my daughter.

Very sad outcome and one that could have been avoided, if the mother had any idea on how to be a parent. Any sane human would never have entered into conversation with someone like that, never mind introduce into the family. Clearly deprived of attention and would take what ever was given.

Why this wasn’t handled better by the relevant departments is beyond me. At 13-16 anyone, male or female, is impressionable! Surely going after the source would have been the better move.

Remarkable parallels in fact - Shamima's parents played significant roles in her 'radicalisation' as well from what I have read, notably her father. We should never forget the significant influence parents have on the formation of views and attitudes in children

its horrendous. I wonder if its asking too much of the authorities to try and keep on top of such things as I'm sure there are hundreds / thousands of focus points or high risk across the UK alone. That means we are really dependant upon the families and communities which clearly doesn't work as in some cases they will be sympathetic and in others prepared to ignore concerns.

It is hard to see major differences between this and Shamima Begum. Perhaps in this case no actual action had been engaged in and off course she was still in the UK.

The real threat are those who engage in manipulating and grooming these youngsters. Seems to be an area we struggle to gain traction.

Those well known lefties ISIS, what with their love of the death penalty and insistence upon religious obedience and suppression of the rights of women laugh

Binary thinking and tribalism.
