This would gold if it wasn't so embarrassing. Ian Hislop is on form. Sadly there appears to be a disconnect...?

How do MPs get a job at a company where they've no discernable skill after coincidently lobbying for them?

They do no answer this fundamental question.

I.e. lobbying is paid for after the event by a shell job.

As a long term subscriber of Private Eye I have nothing but admiration for Ian Hislop.
Here's an interesting interview.

Bent MPs would try (unsuccessfully) the same deflection technique.

Fantastic bloke, for as long as I can remember he's hilighted bent practice at local and national government level.

The line that he's the most sued. I wonder what the actual success rate is. That was a disingenuous comment to make.

Or maybe he is tired from the relentless corruption he uncovers and publicises. It seems to me he is very much on the 'right' side.

And of course Private Eye's relentless highlighting of one of the most outrageous injustices in British history the Post Office sub-postmasters plight against a corrupt, lying 'management' team. Ian Hislop also had the good grace to highlight the fact that Computer Weekly did initially bring this subject to light.

The only reason I can see to dislike him is if you think he might come for you next.

Ian Hislop is one of the good ones, beavering away in the background looking under stones for wrong doings gathering evidence then sticking it up them...a very good egg is Ian Hisplop, I just wish he would concentrate a little of his efforts towards the North Korea of the UK (Scotland) and dig around to see if he can find where she has stashed all the dosh.

Embittered about what? I think he is a bastion of clarity and democracy in this country and should be given a knighthood.

Now that is a brilliant idea. I wonder if he would accept?
