While not to my taste, I always enjoyed seeing Gulzar's cars.

I admire his chutzpah but I thought the cars were awful. It was as if Liberace had become a petrolhead.

p.s. the article is ridiculous. Gulzar Senior won't "make £700k" from the Home Office Contract. that's the income he'll probably get, it doesnt include his costs.

Failing hotel business and tax dodger now propped up by the UK taxpayer to the tune of approx £700k a year.

You couldn't make it up.

I remember the cash he was splashing on some "prototype bodykit" for his lambo, that seemed to be some Romanian guy and a load of "red dog" fibreglass filler! biglaugh

And who could forget the black and gold R1 Yamaha with more chicken strips that Colonel Sanders!

Got any links about his criminality? This might have been before my time and don't know the bloke so more information would help.

eek and we're allowing him to pocket money to house asylum seekers at our expense? If someone is convicted of illegal business practices, why are they still allowed to be in business?

Was it family money that he spunked then or did he stand on his own two feet?

It'd be even more hilarious if it was daddy's money he was spunking on those eyesores.

Thought he claimed to be quite the savvy investor and dabbled around on financial markets.

Although one can't take these things at face value of course.

It's only the old boy in his gold milkfloat that I see about, no idea what happened to the lad and his sister, haven't seen a gourdy Range, Roller or Lambo for years now.

I do hope he wasn't using hotel business cashflow to 'trade fx' as that sort of thing could explain the appearance of shinies and coincidentally not being able to pay the tax man.

i dont see why he's being given a bad rep about this? if a council cant find a person a council house they get placed into emergency accomodation, in some cases they get put into a local hotel, though this should be for no longer than 3 months. I have however seen cases of people who have been put up in hotels for as long as a year. As glamours you might think, its just accomodation, sometimes it's not very safe if (say for example) families are dumped into the same hotel as people who have a mental vulnerability.
