Liz Truss and Kwasi Kwarteng - the Pies!
Discussion
Just when you has forgotten all about them the IEA comes out with this frankly bizarre defence. We were all wrong, it was never about ‘growing the pies’, it’s all down to pizza.
What planet is this guy on?
Mark Littlewood, the director-general of the Institute of Economic Affairs (IEA) think tank which influenced many of Ms Truss's ideas, acknowledged the chaos of her time in power but insisted the broader vision underpinning her premiership was sound.
"You might have the recipe for making the most perfect and delicious pizza, but if the chef is hubristic, or crazy, or incompetent, you are not going to end up with a particularly tasty pizza," he said.
"Does that mean you shouldn’t eat pizza again? No, it just means you shouldn’t eat pizza cooked by that chef."
Wierd. Just wierd .

I wouldn't trust a word from those Tufton Street 'think tanks'.
They give themselves respectable sounding names which make people think they are conducting economic research or doing some good work for the people of Britain. Names like The Institute of Economic Affairs, Business For Britain, The Taxpayers Alliance, The Institute for the Study of Civil Society, Centre for Policy Studies and so on.
No less than 13 of these 'research groups' and 'think tanks' are located at the notorious address of 55-57 Tufton Street.
The reality is they are nothing more than shady pressure groups, backed by big business, certain finance institutes, and wealthy individuals, and who refuse to reveal exactly who funds them and for what purpose. The purpose, as we all know, is to lobby and twist the arm of the government, in the interests of certain wealthy individuals. They are most certainly not there to serve the interests of ordinary citizens. Quite the opposite.
Truss and Kwarteng were their puppets and went straight to work as soon to do the bidding of Tufton Street as soon as they gained office.
If someone really wanted to clean up our system of government, along with a raft of other well needed changes, they should force all these 'think tanks' and lobby groups to publish exactly who funds them, and I imagine it would be pretty revealing and explain why they lobby for the things they do.

The names bug me too. They all seem to pick something neutral that none of us could possibly have a problem with. The TaxPayers Alliance is the worst one. When I first heard of them genuinely thought it was just a bunch of people that had met dog walking or something like that.
