Pretty crazy stuff. There was a similar series of incidents in 2013 which caused a huge amount of damage but not such massive disruption:

It's suggested that this attack was to disrupt a drag show in town. The show went on though, using people's phone lights. The show had been subject to threats and protests:

Some locals on Reddit say that over the years the area has attracted increasingly conservative Christians, one example being an elderly local woman who used to give a lay sermon at their local church was forced out by wealthy new residents who opposed women doing any sort of religious leading.

I saw something on Yahoo (I think) the other day with some armed militia looking types protesting a drag show.

What a grim state of affairs over there yikes

Anyone who has been pushing the "LGBTQ people putting on family friendly drag shows are groomers" conspiracy should be charged under terrorism rules imo.

The one I saw the armed people were *supporting/protecting* the show. Obviously it made the protestors (both in person and online) extremely confused about how to feel biggrin

I think it was the Ohio one but can't be sure as I only paid passing attention.
