We can do better than this can’t we?

Isn’t it time for the top international teams to call time on this embarrassing organisation?

They sound like the SNP's football division. Surprised they didn't use the unspent covid money to get a Scotland a place at Qatar.

Well this isn’t going as I’d hoped.
Something about the SNP and a crossword clue.

FIFA have been a hoard of thieves, robbers and blackmailers for years,Why do we think they will change?

The only thing Qatar have bought to the game of football is a massive load of cash and that is all FIFA cares about.

Imho the national governing bodies should withdraw from FIFA.

It doesn’t own football. It is a parasite on a game that existed before them and will exist after they have, I hope, gone.

To be fair, you can still order a nice foaming pint of chilled camel piss at World Cup venues - in blind taste tests, 8/10 of the subjects preferred it to Budweiser, and the remaining 2/10 said that if served at room temperature there would be no discernible difference between the two.

The time for doing something about it is right now, every single damn team pulls out of the tournament, every single player stands up and says why, it is fairly simple.,

But money talks, this Italian moron needs to resign after this, he is a petty, petulant little fool who is obviously receiving God knows what from the hosts to do this.

A very strange rant probably from a man under a lot of pressure from all sides at the moment

A corrupt leader of a corrupt organisation seeing its flagship event start to Spiral out of Control and losing it a bit it seems

Agreed; most odd. Earlier today I heard the views of Henry Winter who was at the event and listened to Infantino's speech. Winter commented that it was unintentionally funny and weird at the same time. 'Losing it' sounds about right, I think.
This World Cup must surely be the strangest tournament in the modern era.

The time for doing something about it was just before they were selected as hosts. If the teams were to do anything, they should have said no then, before people died building stadia, resources were wasted etc.

Not one of them wants to do anything about this sort of thing. Which is fair enough if money is the prime driver. Just don't pretend it isn't.

The furore over beer etc is stupid too. FIFA should not have tried to insist a country like Qatar sell it at games. If you choose to go to a nation, stick to their customs. If they aren't commensurate with your "brand", don't go there.

Ultimately though, FIFA are no more at "fault" here than all the Western governments that cosy up to such places...
