I was having a look at this is money and stumbled across the below - absolutely horrific. I really can't comprehend how people like that can live with themselves. Other than rank bad driving I really can't see any excuses

For easily triggered souls I'd mention that it appears as if This is Money is daily Mail linked hehe

Anyone would think it would be a good place to site a safety camera. Perhaps there are more dangerous places on local motorways.

What would trigger a camera. What type of camera are you proposing?

The cars dont appear to be speeding. So no speed camera

Theres no button/red light on a Zebra crossing to stop traffic so you couldnt have a red light camera.

Average speed camera is just not appropriate.

What's going on with that particular zebra crossing? I've only witnessed a near miss at a zebra crossing once in my life (been driving for 30+ years).

My grandson and I were crossing on a ‘green man’ crossing in Manchester, when a car came sweeping round and nearly mowed us down. Luckily, I never accept it’s safe, even when the green man is showing.

It's not just Bradford. I used to cross the same crossing in Kingston on Thames every evening, and I got to just expect cars to sail across when I was already crossing. No really near misses, but that was because I was expecting it. Wasn't the case with other crossings in same area so it must have been something specific to that crossing, although I never worked out what.

May have been the width of the road- nearly but not quite wide enough to justify a central refuge.

I lived in south Manchester for a bit and even the traffic light controlled ones weren't safe.

Zebra crossing near work I have had a few near misses, people just come off a roundabout and given the speed they are going you just know they aren't looking ahead and anticipating that there just might be someone on the crossing.

Another one near where I live which I use a few times a month, frequently people just bomb over it, a few weeks ago when crossing, the car on the opposite carriageway stopped I started to move across and this Polo on my side of the road had its brakes slammed on, coming to a stop with what sounded like its ABS kicking in, which says to me the car was travelling way too fast for the road in the first instance and the driver wasn't anticipating that someone might be crossing at the very obvious Zebra crossing

Ah, Kingston. Many years ago I had someone drive into the cycle lane on Kingston bridge, knocking me off my bicycle because she didn't think I should be undertaking... In. The. Cycle. Lane. She then got grumpy that I'd hit her wing mirror in the process, her passenger was not amused, it must be said. I suspect the driver was simply a bit of a see you next Tuesday.

I've never had an issue at a zebra crossing as a driver or a pedestrian

You would have to drive up a kerb to do that now, but, yes, I had interesting experiences as a cyclist in Kingston as well- the inner ring road is not great for a bike!

Ah! Bludford innit. Where everyones a gangsta and if you get caught you can nominate a relative with a similar name who happens to be abroad.

Have to drive through that general area to get home after coming off the M606. No rules whatsoever are adhered to by the majority and no attempt appears to be being made by the authorities to do anything about it. It's been the same around there for as long as I can remember - at least two decades.

The only thing that surprised me about that film is that the first two cars actually stopped!

As others have said, Bradford!

Glad I never have to drive there anymore, those who have will know!
