I am with you on this. I also found the fact Truss was with the ex prime ministers astonishing. Has she no shame

Haven't seen it, but the fact Truss had the cheek to turn up boils my piss.

If she had a shred of decency she would never appear in public again. mad

Got to be seen to be doing something to justify the £115000 per annum expenses she gets for the rest of her incompetent life
You mean produce receipts?

What harm did she really do? Proposed some tax cuts which never happened, except the scrapping of the NI rise, a decision all parties agree with. Damaged the Conservative party certainly, but the country? The only lasting downside seems to be some sensible supply side reforms getting thrown out with the bathwater.

And as a former PM, whether you like her or what she did is irrelevant, she is allowed and most likely, expected to attend.

This. If she didn't turn up there would be equal outrage.

And he's standing there with that stupid smirk allover his face, clearly enjoying the attention, the useless, pointless prick..
I haven't seen today's proceedings, but isn't it the case that Edward and Sophie are the two hardest working royals, in terms of the number of engagements they attend and the charities they support. It used to be Anne but I think these 2 have overtaken her. So useless and pointless may be a tad harsh.

What harm did she do?! The botched budget cost the country £30 billion according to an independent think tank (Resolution Foundation).

Not even the resolution foundation thinks that. The £30 billion is the hole the current chancellor reckons he has to fill, but half of that is due to the reversal of the N I increase, and most of the remainder is due to a temporary increase in borrowing costs which would probably have happened anyway. Planned tax cuts that never happened didn't cost anything.

First time I've ever read any criticism of Edward, generally considered one of the good 'uns?

Same here; I’ve met him five times over the years and he always struck me as diligent, interesting and interested in what the groups of young people I was with said.

Go back quite a few years to when he wimped out of the marines to become an ASM (tea boy) for the Really Useful Group because he liked acting & drama. He was a figure of fun & enjoyed a great deal of well-earned contempt.

I don't know whether he's done much in the meantime to redeem himself.

Is not being up to training for the Marines something that deserves contempt?

As for Liz Truss, if she reaches life expectancy she’s got another 40 years of people saying ‘what’s SHE doing there?’

Maybe, maybe not but it's what happened.

If the preferred alternative is making tea for people prancing around a stage then possibly yes it's deserved.

"Maybe, maybe not"??? Getting through Lympstone is a significant achievement. Plenty of very able and committed people fail to complete the course. They're no shame in it.

Exactly. No shame in deciding Commando Course or PCoy isnt for you and walking away.

Maybe he decided he didnt want to be some gimp for the Mail and did what he wanted to do.

A lid for the teacup? No. I knew couldn't make it as a teaboy so never even applied.
