Look at this, how is this remotely acceptable to dump tonnes of st into the sea

If just stop oil switched to Just Stop Sewage, I'd support them 100%. It is an absolute outrage that water companies are allowed to get away with this.
I stayed in St Agnes last year and it pisses me off that water companies are allowed to sully such a pretty beach seemingly with impunity.

Disgusting.

I wonder how long the residual effects of that last.

The water companies are utter scumbags. On our beach, on the South Coast, this year they’ve dumped a fair chunk of sewage especially when it had rained heavily. It’s apparently cheaper for the scumbags to pay the paltry fines they accrue for dumping than to deal with it properly. They need to be held properly accountable. s of the highest rank.

BTW, the Safer Seas and Rivers app is indispensable if you reside near the water:

Heavy rain and currently gusting gale force 9 here on the South Coast tonight so no doubt more discharges from the scumbags to come.

ETA, make that force 10 just now. 50 knots. Wild night in store.

Now 60 knots, force 11. Hammering the house.

Err, strange distinction, you might find worse images for oil.

Yep. In a strange twist of fate - last time I was in Florida I got hit by Ian whilst Mrs was chilled out with sun and heat.

Now, I'm back in FL, and it's 31C and glorious, and she's messaging me to say the house is shaking...
