From a far it’s always seemed a calm city - but sadly something has gone seriously wrong this evening with talks of 120+ deaths as part of a Halloween parade.

I've been in some crowd in the UK where its felt a bit dodgy but luckily they are usually Policed somewhat (e.g. outside concerts) so never gone totally wrong.

Horrific

Crowds can be very scary and take on a dynamic all of their own even with good control measures in place

I keep going back to check that number to make sure I'm not hallucinating. 150+? In a city and country as developed as they are? Utter shock. My wife is Korean and this has rocked everyone to the core.

They showed an area it happened in on news and it was a wide pavment on a slope. They seemed to say some people slipped at the top of the slope (maybe they mean bottom) and people all slid down and caused some crush?
Doesnt sound possible? Very odd and horrendous event.

Shocking.
Saw a live video of a guy in the crowd. He was either tall or was standing on something (someone?) and he was struggling to breath but was ok. People around him grabbing onto him to pull themselves up, or whatever, but he was pushing and slapping them away, understandably. (Mind you if he ditched his bloody phone and selfie stick maybe he could have helped)

In a police state like Korea I’m amazed. It happened in 2010 in Phnom Penh - 300 died at a water festival.

RIP.

If it's the one I've seen then it'll just be a camera on a stick which he is holding up
