Apart from how he’s dressed, what has he done to cause distress?

I'd imagine you'd have to pick your location pretty carefully.

A bit like XR picking the wrong train station.

How many pride marches do you attend alone and in the dark?

I'd say if you were at an event you might reasonably expect to see a few unusual outfits.

Walking home in small village at midnight after a trip to the pub or whatever it was? Not really.

Maybe it's just me but that feels pretty obvious.

What I do on my evenings off is my affair quite frankly.

I’ve attended a few in the daytime / evening, however away from that I did encounter a couple of furries in Birmingham. A dragon was walking a dog hehe

Surely the people who phoned 999 are guilty of a hate crime?

It is just clothing I suppose, it's unusual sure but not sure that justifies arresting someone.

If it was a woman in a similar outfit, would they have been arrested? I doubt it.

Oh you *really* dont live in the West Country do you??! smile

Stewie, Stewie, Stewie...you should SEE some of the outfits the locals wear after the pub about midnight down here!
Actually its Carnival in a cpl of weeks, Ill send you some pics. Suffice to say I live in a wicker man type village that throws burning barrels of tar down a hill, on a sled and the blokes in front - dressed up - have to run bloody fast and not trip up to stay ahead of them! All watched on by a few thousand well oiled locals at about midnight, complete with the kids staying up after their local tractor parade.

Then they do it again before 6am the next morning after the pub has absolutely not stayed open all night officer!

Its a bit different down here smile

From what I recall, the person was approaching people, so the overall manner was not the same as walking down Canal St in Manchester one Friday night.

However, several burly uniformed men handcuffing them and bundling them into a van may have been what they wanted...

Walking home at midnight and you meet a guy in a gimp suit. You walk on by. The end.

The idea this person needs to be "stopped" by the Police when there's no report of anything close to what we'd reasonably call a crime seems pretty OTT.

Its a man, and it's potentially sexual so it's automatically bad.

If he is not some sort of perceived minority then he's getting prosecuted for something.
