I may be wrong but is he thinking the red and white circle and the fraktur typeface looks a bit "late thirties Germanic"?

I think that the implication is that the red/white emblem outline with a squiggly black glyph in the middle is reminiscent of the Nazi logo.

It's a bit of a stretch if so.
